A three-month residency in a primary school on an estate in Ashford in 2011, working as an inspiring writer and experiential artist alongside sculptor Nikki Dennington. We created programmes for the children, resulting in an exhibition of their work, as well as stories around a pair of ‘dinosaur eggs’ we placed in the school grounds. We also took the children on a visit to Kensington Gardens to see the Anish Kapoor show in the park.
Part of the Creative Partnerships programme, our work aimed to engage pupils in a poorly-rated school and engage parents in their children’s creativity. The work resulted in a record attendance for parents at our exhibition of the children’s work.
